Travel logs are like cooking steaks, you need to let it rest for some minutes till it absorbs the juice back.
Myself, 2022, just made it up
In two weekends of March 2022, I flew to Paris and Zurich for some photo and exploration. What should I write? I can’t possibly cover the whole experience of the two trips. Two consecutive weekends in different countries was like a dream now to remember, but I did managed to pull it off.
Getting & staying there
In my younger mind, a big part of spending when travelling abroad is flying and living – totally different story when travelling inside Europe. This few years hostels became my go-to option when travel to a new city. Its low cost and the social character made me want to write a separate post just to praise the concept.
The flight to Paris was quite plain compare to the returning journey, it cost 40 Euro for a return trip. Ryanair’s only one bag ticket price is perfect for these short travels, still this was my first time carrying this small amount of stuff for travel
I stayed in Les Piaules in Paris (though they recently changed name to The People), not the cheapest one I’ve lived, around 20 Euro per night. They have a nice rooftop view of the city but there is no quiet place to work after your day exploration in the city, the ground floor turns to a bar in evenings. I got the recommendation to book this place from Truc, who I met in backpacker’s hostel in Stockholm, she stayed in this place a few days for 2022’s new year.
todo:
- feeling of more people are smoking in the streets of Zurich
- Zurich’s architectures
- People I met in both cities, including the feeling towards exchange students in Zurich.
- airports and film hand check.
